Why Volunteer

Your Time Changes Real Lives

Volunteering at Champions World International means showing up for a family that has nowhere else to turn. It means sitting with a teenager who needs someone to listen. It means stocking a shelf that feeds a household through a week of crisis. Every hour you give is felt directly by a real person in your community.

Our volunteers work alongside licensed professionals and trained staff. You will never be dropped into a situation without support, training, or a clear role. We invest in our volunteers because we know that the quality of our people determines the quality of our impact.

Common Questions

Volunteer FAQ

Do I need prior experience to volunteer?+

No. Most of our roles require nothing more than a willing attitude and a commitment to showing up consistently. For specialized roles like Mental Health Support Aide, relevant experience is helpful but not required β€” we provide full training for every role.

Is there a minimum time commitment?+

For ongoing roles, we ask for a minimum of two hours per week for at least one month so that the people you serve can build some continuity with you. For skills-based and project-based volunteering, there is no minimum β€” we work around your availability.

Do I need to be local to volunteer?+

Not for skills-based roles. Legal, marketing, design, IT, and other professional support can often be provided remotely. For direct service roles like food pantry and youth mentorship, you will need to be within traveling distance of one of our three campuses.

Will I receive a reference letter?+

Volunteers who serve consistently for three or more months are eligible for a professional reference letter from CWI leadership. Speak to your program coordinator when you reach that milestone.

How do I know which role is right for me?+

When you submit your application, our team reviews your background, availability, and interests and matches you to the most appropriate role. You are never placed somewhere without a conversation first.

Can organizations or corporate groups volunteer?+

Absolutely. We welcome group volunteer days, corporate social responsibility partnerships, and team-based skills projects. Contact us at championsbldchampions@gmail.com to discuss how we can structure something for your organization.
